Morphcloud is a platform for data tables and the automations that run on them. Use this page to get started, to find the reference material, and to get help.

Get started

  1. Sign in. Go to morphcloud.com/session. Sign in with your Google or Microsoft account, or with your email address and password.

  2. Open a workspace. A workspace holds your tables, actions, models and members. Nothing is shared between workspaces.

  3. Build a table. A table has typed columns. Each table also gets six system columns: rowId, createdBy, createdAt, updatedAt, updatedBy and actionStatus.

  4. Add actions. Actions run on the rows of a table. For example, an action can call an AI model, read from another table, copy rows into another table, or call an external web API.

  5. Ask the Architect. Each workspace has the Architect, an assistant in the app. Ask it to explain your workspace or to help you build.

Key ideas

  • Cell values are text. Numbers, true or false, percentages (60% is 0.6) and dates (ISO 8601, in UTC) are all kept as text.

  • References link tables. A reference column points at a row in another table. Use references for parent and child records.

  • actionStatus shows what happened. If an automation does not give the result that you expect, read the actionStatus column of the row first.

  • Actions can cost money. Each action run uses credits, and AI use is billed by tokens. See Pricing.

Connect an AI agent (MCP)

Morphcloud has an MCP server. An AI agent, for example Claude, can use it to read and build in your workspaces as you.

  • Server address: https://mcp.morphcloud.com/

  • Client configuration: { "mcpServers": { "morphcloud": { "type": "http", "url": "https://mcp.morphcloud.com/" } } }

When you connect, you sign in and approve the access. The agent can then do what you can do.

Reference for developers and agents

The Morphcloud API describes itself. Each response lists the links and the actions that are available from that point.

  • API guide: the building blocks. Tables, the action types, connections, conditions, timers, costs and files.

  • Patterns: worked examples by problem, for example “turn one row into many rows” and “import a file every time one arrives”.

  • MCP server: the server description and the client configuration.

These resources are written for AI agents and return JSON. If you use an agent, tell it to read the guide first.

What changed

See the Changelog for each production release: what changed, and what you need to do.
